The Russian Metrological Institute of Technical Physics and Radio Engineering (VNIIFTRI) is one of the largest national metrology institutes in Russia.

The VNIIFTRI carries out activities aimed at reproducing the national time scale and reference frequencies, determine the parameters of the Earth’s rotation; developing, improving, maintaining, comparing and applying the state primary standards of units of quantities; and conducting fundamental and applied research, as well as experimental projects.
